Multiple shark attacks have been reported on Texas and Florida beaches during the Fourth of July holiday, leaving several people injured.
In South Padre Island, Texas, multiple social media posts from beachgoers indicated that the U.S. Coast Guard had advised them to stay out of the water. A video captured by one witness shows a shark near the area where a man was bitten.
Texas Game Wardens confirmed that two people were bitten in the incident, while a third person was grazed and a fourth man sustained injuries while fending off a shark. The shark later escaped to open waters.
