The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) has reported a significant earthquake in Argentina on January 1, 2023, at 12:41 UTC. The quake registered a magnitude of 5.6 and occurred 63 kilometers west-southwest of San Antonio de los Cobres, Salta Province, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
