The Southwest Finland District Court found that Loimaan Vesi had failed to ensure that wastewater was disinfected in accordance with the requirements of the Food Safety Act, posing a health risk to consumers.

The court also found that Loimaan Vesi had failed to take adequate measures to prevent the contamination of drinking water with Legionella bacteria, which can cause Legionnaires' disease.

Loimaan Vesi has since taken steps to address the issues identified by the court and has invested in new equipment to ensure that wastewater is disinfected properly.

The company has also implemented a new water safety plan to prevent the contamination of drinking water with Legionella bacteria.

The company has been fined €100,000 for the breaches, and its permit to operate the water treatment plant has been suspended for three months.
